about

New solo recording by Marco Serrato (Orthodox, Sputnik Trio...). This time, instead of free improvisation Marco Serrato shows off his more "folky" side. Six little songs for double bass under the influence of artist such as Charlie Haden, John Fahey or Mike Watt. Some of this tunes were the seeds for songs recorded by Orthodox or Hidden Forces Trio.
In his own words:
"As Mingus said , a good musician is the one who is able to whistle a good idea. In the first recordings made by rural musicians in the early twentieth century we can listen to musicians who, away from virtuosity, had some good ideas to offer from a simple context, immediate and raw. A naked music that they probably played with friends, family, or better yet, in private. I tend to be related to extreme, dark or weird music, but this time I wanted to record the music I sometimes play at home for my own."
